DIRECTIONS TO SURFLIGHT THEATRE 

 

From New York City or North Jersey by Car

  • Take the New Jersey Turnpike to exit 11 to enter the Garden State Parkway.

  • Take the Garden State Parkway about sixty miles to exit 63, follow the off ramp to the right, you will be on Route 72 East.

  • Follow Route 72 East about 7.4 miles, it will lead you over the bridge onto Long Beach Island.

  • Stay on Route 72 as far as you can go (Route 72 ends on Long Beach Island). Bear right onto Long Beach Blvd.

  • Please watch your speed, our enthusiastic island police are more than happy to stop you for going over 35 mph during the summer.

  • Take Long Beach Blvd. towards the southern end of the island, about 6.2 miles. Do not be seduced by signs that say Beach Haven Gardens, Beach Haven Terrace or North Beach Haven. This is merely a ploy designed to keep you on your toes. There is only one Beach Haven, and you are almost there. Go past the Bay Village Shops and the Ferris wheel at Fantasy Island, you will see Murphy's Marketplace on the left, make the left turn onto Engleside Avenue. The Theatre is on your left, on the corner Beach and Engleside Aves.

From Brooklyn

  • Take Outerbridge crossing through Staten Island to Garden State Parkway south. Follow above NYC directions from the Parkway.

 From New York City By Bus

  • From Port Authority.  Take New Jersey Transit Manahawkin, NJ via the Atlantic City Express. (Either bus #137 or #319) This bus departs generally every hour. The bus will make a stop in Toms River, NJ before proceeding to Atlantic City. Get off in Toms River.

  • In Toms River, you will wait approximately 5-20 minutes for Bus 559-S (Southbound) called the Atlantic City local or Route 9 local South. This bus will bring you to Manahawkin which is the town on the mainland. The theatre is approximately ½ hour from the bus stop and a cab will bring you; however, you must call the cab to pick you up 609-597-5106

From Philadelphia Area by Car

  • Take the Ben Franklin Bridge to New Jersey side. Follow Route 30/130 East to Route 70 East. Take 70 East through 2 traffic circles. At third traffic circle take Route 72 East and proceed 28 miles onto Long Beach Island.

  • Stay on Route 72 as far as you can go (Route 72 ends on Long Beach Island). Bear right onto Long Beach Blvd.

  • If you take any of the other south bridges across (Commodore Barry or Walt Whitman), take 295 North to Exit 34A (Route 70 East) and follow above directions.

  •  If you take the Betsy Ross across, take 295 South to Route 70 exit and follow above directions.

  • If you take the Tacony Palmyra, just follow Route 73 to Route 70 east and follow the directions above. 

  • If you take the Burlington Bristol Bridge, take Route 130 South to Route 73, then take Route 73 South to Route 70 East, and then follow the directions above.

 From Baltimore or Newark, Delaware

  • Take 95 North to 295 to the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge and take the exit for 295 North. (This exit is about 1/4 of a mile after you cross the bridge on the right). Follow 295 North to Exit 34A (Route 70 East). Take 70 East through 2 traffic circles. At third traffic circle get on Route 72 East.

  • Stay on Route 72 as far as you can go (Route 72 ends on Long Beach Island). Bear right onto Long Beach Blvd.

Note: After crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge you may also take either the Atlantic City Expressway (Route 42 East) or Route 40 East to the Garden State Parkway North. Take Exit 63 to Route 72 East, and follow the directions above.

Parking

All parking is free. You can park on any street around the theatre, in marked parking spaces. We also share a parking lot with Kynett United Methodist Church at the corner of Centre St. and Beach Ave.

There is handicap parking at the park across the street from the theatre, near Murphy’s Market and in the parking lot
