2023 Apprentice 4, 4, & 4Program

Surflight Theatre’s Teen Apprentice Program is a flexible program for High School students going into 9th to 12th grades or 2023 graduates. Known as the 4, 4 and 4 program, it consists of a commitment of 4 hours a day, 4 days a week for 4 weeks. More time can be spent at the theatre if interested and assigned to run crew for Children’s Theatre: stage managing, running spotlight, assisting backstage on run crew, ushering, etc. For those who are very interested in spotlight duties for Mainstage shows it may also be a possibility.

The Apprentice Program is an opportunity to learn many theatre skills which also are life skills and can be used in many applications outside of theatre. Apprentices may work next to skilled professionals, college age interns and see first-hand how the business of theatre works.

Since Surflight is a 501c3 nonprofit, Apprentice hours count as service hours for NHS and college applications.
